What does BDSM mean?

The acronym BDSM stands for the following:
BD = Bondage / Discipline
DS = Dominance / Submission and
SM = Sadism / Masochism
and is in this aspect much broader than the more wide only used SM in Germany. A lot of people prefer to not use the word SM as it is mainly associated with the gain of pleasure through pain and suffering. This is of course not everyone's kink. Bondage's "rigger and bunnies", pet-player, or other kinks won't fit under the plain SM banner. Because of this, the much broader word definition of BDSM is mainly used and normally understood by everyone interested in these activities.

Frequently Asked Questions about BDSM

    Questions concerning BDSM Berlin

    And why do you need a club for something like that?

    We have summarized the various answers to this question under why an association?.

    There are so many offers. Where do I begin?

    A visit to our beginners meeting is a good starting point. There you meet other people in a small group who are just as new, nervous and insecure as you are. The experienced hosts take away the first fears and answer all questions, you can exchange ideas with others at ease. This makes the first time a great experience and encourages you to take the next step.

    Questions concerning finding a partner

    I am looking for a partner. Could you guys help me find one?

    No. Plain and simple. We are not a "dating website". Often, there are matches found, both male and female, if the ad is well written and honest. If you do need help, we are more than happy to provide you with some pointers.

    I am looking for a partner. Will I find him / her with you guys?

    There is an urban myth that the first time you go to a munch, you find your perfect partner. Preferably so perfect that everything goes so perfect that you are married / collared within the first month and it holds forever. By just being perfectly honest we can tell you: "dream on". This will never happen as just about nobody goes to a munch for this purpose. It's actually frowned upon to just go to munches to pick up chicks / dudes. Most of the time, it is worth more to just make contacts, have nice chats. And you never know, you might find your dream partner at a munch, but probably not by trying out old, used pick up lines.
    Munches can help you boost your self esteem, come out of your shell and be able to talk about the topics that interest you, and if that leads to finding a partner that's right for you, the better.

    Questions for parties & events

    Im new to all of this. Which one of the clubs and events are for beginnners?

    You won't be eaten alive or pushed to do anything against your will at any of the events and parties. In smaller clubs or if you get introduced to the organizer, it is often good to go and explicitly tell them that you are new and don't really know the rules as to how to behave. Most of the time, you will get tips and explanations, or if the organizers don't have time themselves, they will introduce you to people who can tell you more. Some events or clubs also offer specific introductory evenings.

    I am in Berlin from... till... Can you guys give me tips where I can find parties and events during this timeframe?

    In the calendar you can find everything we know about these things. Sorry if we can't be of more help.

    Can you give me tips about events or clubs in Paris / Moscow or Bielefeld?

    Sorry, but no. We are only working the Berlin area and that's all we know.

    Miscellaneous

    Here is the new URL of my new SM- and / or fetish website. Can I exchange links with you?

    As you might have noticed, we do not have a link share program with commercial websites.

    I am looking for Bondage manuals / tipps as to what I can do with my partner / building manuals...

    There are many BDSM websites with manuals and tips from A to Z, like Lustschmerz. Do a google search and you will find a lot of them. Please be advised that we can only handle requests on an individual basis. If you have searched the web and still can't find the right link, contact us and we will try to find it with you.

    We would like to rent a room in Berlin with SM equipment. Are there any available?

    Unfortunately, we can't be of help here.

    I really like what you are doing here, but I sadly do not live in Berlin. Is there something similar in my city?

    Have a look at www.schlagzeilen.com, which is the biggest and most up to date index of BDSM contact points in the German speaking area.
